Building Our Future... Now!
Campaign Goal: $5 Million
Campaign Chairs Gregory and Phyllis DeMars
Greg DeMars is a senior partner at Honigman, Miller, Schwartz, and Cohn, LLP in downtown Detroit. Phyllis is a special needs/resource teacher at Our Lady Star of the Sea. They are products of Catholic education, and are dedicated to it, sending their son Greg to De La Salle and their daughters Sara and Bethany to Regina. They joke about being goaded into the positions of co-chairs for this campaign – but their focus, efforts and commitment to date shows it didn't take much to make them comfortable in their roles.
"My wife and I are pleased to be co-chairs working with a group of other dedicated members of the Regina community in connection with the Capital Campaign – Building Our Future, for Regina High School. This is a historical moment for Regina as it moves from Harper Woods, Michigan to Warren, Michigan into a new facility. As parents, with a daughter who has graduated and one about to graduate, we feel that this important mission of Regina High School in educating its students in the Catholic traditions must continue. Regina has a unique position in the community as being the only all girls Catholic college preparatory high school on the eastside of the Detroit metropolitan area. We support the Regina mission fully and we believe that it is one that the community should embrace."
Greg and Phyllis are residents of Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan.
REGINA HIGH SCHOOL – Building Our Future!
On Thursday, April 19, 2007, our Principal, Sister Mary Leanne Leszczynski, Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis (SSJ-TOSF), the Capital Campaign Leadership Team, and Regina's Board of Directors introduced the components and needs of our Capital Campaign – Building Our Future!
"Simply put, this campaign allows us to continue to fulfill the mission and ministry of Regina High School, in the Franciscan tradition" said Sr. Leanne. "Regina has been a strong presence in the metropolitan Detroit community for over 50 years."
