Career Cruising

In the 2011-2012 school year, Regina began using the Career Cruising program with all students in 9 – 11th grades. Career Cruising is a guidance tool that tracks career development activities.  Through Career Cruising, students can plan and make better connections between what they are learning in school and their future.

Students take assessments, explore career interests, and identify colleges where they can pursue higher level education.  They use an electronic portfolio to track their work.

The portfolio is part of the Educational Development Plan (EDP) developed for each student at Regina High School.  If you want to familiarize yourself with the Career Cruising website, go to www.careercruising.com

The username is “regina” and the password is “saddlelite”.  To check out your student’s customized portfolio, you will need her personal ID and password.  If your student has misplaced her password, please contact her counselor.

Seniors are still signed up for My Dream Explorer and are able to access their accounts through www.mydreamexplorer.com.

Job Board for Students Seeking Part-time Employment

  1. Students check the job board located in the counseling center for listings of area employers seeking help. Each job has a code letter and number with a brief description of the job and wage paid
  2. Students bring that number to Mrs. Dombruski, who gives further information to the student
  3. Students are instructed to call the employer and ask for an appointment to interview for the job.
  4. Students then report back to Mrs. Dombruski if they get the job, or if it was already placed
  5. The job listing is then removed from the board.
