Career Information

Through the web-based program, My Dream Explorer, students research careers and build an electronic portfolio that summarizes their interests, talents, extra-curricular activities, test scores, and career ideas. In their computer classes and elective classes such as Independent Living, students are able to complete an educational development plan that meshes their career direction with their curricular and extra-curricular activities.  A password and user name is needed to enter the student’s My Dream Explorer file.  www.mydreamexplorer.com

Job Board - Youth Employment

Procedure for Job Board

  1. Students check the job board located in the counseling center for listings of area employers seeking help.  Each job has a code letter and number with a brief description of the job and wage paid

  2. Students bring that number to Mrs. Dombruski, who gives further information to the student

  3. Students are instructed to call the employer and ask for an appointment to interview for the job.

  4. Students then report back to Mrs. Dombruski if they get the job, or if it was already placed

  5. The job listing is then removed from the board.
